It's Raining And It's Cold

So there has been a lot of rain here lately.
We don't get snow in Paraguay.
But we get rain, lots and lots of rain.
And right now it is really cold.

I would rather prefer summer and spring.
I like heat more than the cold.
But I don't really care.

I am happy that we have seasons at all.

Can you imagine a life without snow?
The rain?
Or the sun?

That would not be fun at all!
So as I think more and more about it I thank God that we have seasons.

Missionaries To Paraguay

Robert and Helen Goddard

Robert and Helen Goddard moved to Paraguay, South America, on May 3, 1955.
During their lives they encountered many test and trials, but they remained faithful to God.
When they came to Paraguay they brought seven kids with them.
Robert and Helen worked with six First Nation tribes in Paraguay.
They didn't know any of the languages.

They lived in the Northern part of Paraguay,
called the Chaco or "Green Hell" because of the thorn jungle and heat.
They also worked with a hostile tribe called the Ayore.
The Ayore, and many other First Nations now have churches,
thanks to the missionaries that risked everything for God.
At times it comes at a price, but it is worth it.

Tell Your Story

Everyone has a story,
how they became a Christian,
a trip that changed their life,
how something they learned helped them become a better person,
a person that gave them a better point of view.

There are so many other stories that people enjoy sharing or telling.

From a story about someone's cat that ate a mouse.

To a blind kid that got his/hers sight for the first time.

Stories are a apart of us,
if you couldn't remember a story then you wouldn't be able to tell it.

I have friends that absolutely love to tell stories.

Like I said at the top.
Everyone has a story, tell your story and share it.

Down South

I am going to write about my trip down South...

We woke up at four AM.
Packed the truck.
And sat in the truck for the next five hours.
The trip took us five hours,
during that time we: talked, sang, ate cheese beard or chipa.

Us eating chipa

And yes, Ocho also came.

When we got to the camp, my parents went to meetings,
while us kids talked, walked, played with Ocho,
took pictures, and then it rained.
(I was really happy that I brought my boots)
There was a lot of mud.

And really, since it was a two days and
one night trip there isn't much to say.

We did name four dogs there.
Laddie, Lassie, Boyd and Energy.

The next day was cold, we left for home after lunch,
but ended up stopping to see one of the pastor's house and church.
It didn't go as I expected but it went really good.

Because of traffic and rain it took us a while to get back to our house,
but I was happy to sleep in my own bed again.

Languages And Communication

Knowing languages is a very important part of our lives everyday.

I don't know about you but I love to learn languages,
it is just something I enjoy doing.
I hope to learn at least five languages.

English, Spanish, Guarani, German and Portuguese.

I already know two, and I am already learning two more,
So I am thankful.

Communication also plays a big part in our lives.

We communicate with friends, family, at school,
at work, in the store, in a park, etc...

If you know a few languages
and you know how to communicate, go for it!

After all, it's the only way that the Gospel is going to go to the unreached.

Coming Soon!

I am really sorry that I have not been writing lately.

Some of my family came to stay with us
before going on furlough for a year,
and I wanted to spend as much time with them as possible.
And I think we all had a great time.

Tomorrow I am going on a one day trip,
so I will definitely write about my adventures.

It has been raining a lot here so you never know,
maybe we will do soon slipping and sliding.

Wait Or Force

One time when my family and I
were in Washington DC,
and two teenage girls stopped us and asked
if they could interview me for a school project.

And inside I was saying "ME?! Why?!"

It was a great opportunity to share my faith with these girls.
They asked me what my favorite spot in Washington DC was.

Note: I am bad a history.

In the end I said I didn't know,
because I didn't know the difference.
And the only thing I wanted to talk about was the Bible.
But I didn't want to force it on them knowing if I did,
they would probably turn and run as fast as possible.
And before I knew it my interview was done.
My point is don't miss the opportunity to teach the gospel,
but when you teach it, don't force it on them,
it has to be their decision.

Happy Mothers Day!

Today is Mothers Day!
I think today I am going to do
something for my mom.

Why don't you join me?
Let's do at least one kind thing for our moms today?

Just to thank her for choosing one of the hardest occupations in the world.
Being a mom.

Boys And Girls

I grew up with two brothers and MKs,
most of which were boys.
I only have three cousins that are girls, and two of them live is the US.
And my other cousin lives five hours away.
And I am also the oldest of the three.

I don't mind playing with boys, they can be a lot of fun.
Of course, so can girls.

I'll admit, at times I feel like I live in four different worlds,
and in a way I do.

World 1: The US.

   World 2: Paraguay.

     World 3: Country girl.

World 4: City girl.

I have friends around the world, but not many that are my age,
most are older or younger than me.
But that's OK.
I have God.

Temptation

At times temptation is a hard thing to resist.
What do you do to resist temptation?

Talk to God?

The list goes on, but what do you do to resist temptation?

Matthew 26:41
Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”

Keep watch and pray.

That is what the Bible says in this verse.
And this is just one verse.
Imagine the rest of the Bible.
This is not the only verse in the Bible that talks about temptation.

Some other verses that talk about temptation:
James 1:14,
James 1:12,
1 Corinthians 10:13.

And there are tons more.

Friends

We all want to have friends,
to talk with, to be with.
I have friends and best friends,
and I talk with them.
For me it can get pretty awkward
to talk about certain things.

The Rebelution, is a blog,
they talk about a lot of things the teenagers struggle with.

If you click the link, it will take you to a great article called
"7 Tips For Godly Teen Friendships"

Hope you enjoy it!

Attention!

I don't know about you but I do not like being the center of attention,
in fact at times I hate being the center of attention.
And at times we all have to get out of our comfort zones
and do thing we don't want to do.

And I hope that someday I will overcome the things that I don't like doing.

Legos

I love playing with legos, I like making:
Houses, cars, trees, campers, a city, parks.
I. Love. Legos.

The only reason I don't like legos is when it takes so long to make.
I'll admit, I am not the most patient person in the world.
But if I put my mind to it, I can be very patient.

Legos is also a good and fun way to spend some time with your family.
But, then again, there are a lot of ways to spend time with your family.

May The Fourth Be With You

I am not Star Wars fan,
So normally I would say happy May 4th.
But, May The Fourth Be With You!
Or happy May 4th!😀

Heaven

Would you like everyday to be a good day?
Can you imagine that?
Everyday, nothing bad, nothing wrong.
Everything would be good and perfect.

That is what Adam and Eve had.
And they gave it up!
Sure Eve's the one that ate the fruit first,
but Adam is in just as deep as Eve,
because he also ate it.

Just think, in heaven, there will be no more sadness,
no more pain, and no more anger.
Wouldn't that be awesome?

I am looking forward to seeing what heaven look likes.

Business

Recently, I watched a business show,

I learned some very important things, like:
 Trust your workers,
have a friendly relationship with your workers,
respect each other,
know your numbers,
be kind,
don't lie and
know your stuff.

These things are very important.

If you don't trust your workers then they get discouraged.
If you get your numbers wrong, then your in trouble.
If you lie, you lose workers and friends.
Therefore you lose your business.

So if you ever have your own business you know what to do.

We The People

I know people all around the world,
and I think that is pretty cool.

Isn't it amazing that we are all the same, and yet, we are all different?
We are all called to do the same thing, in different ways.
All around the world.

There are so many ways to help, serve and work.
So many things that need done and yet,
where is the motivation? The encouragement? And the help?

Tons of missionaries leave countries just a soon as they get there.
And they leave because of things like:
Pressure, no one to walk through it with them,
no encouragement, no help, questions that don't get answered.

There are millions of reasons why.
So if you now any missionaries,
do something for them, visit, listen, talk, get to know them.

I could give you a list about the thing that I don't like eating,
but that list would go on for a little while. 😀

Job 23:12

I have not departed from his commands,
but have treasured his words more than daily food.
